Alpinestars Supertech R10

Alpinestars' first full-face race lid is a wind-tunnel-tuned monster that flows air like nothing else and disappears at speed.

The Verdict

The Good

  • A-Head system rotates the helmet fore/aft for street or track vision — 15-second swap
  • Wind-tunnel-tuned shell with zero buffeting even leaned off at racetrack speeds
  • Ventilation is absolutely nuts — flows air like nothing else in the class

The Bad

  • Aggressive shell lines leave no flat spot for a Cardo — stick adhesion is a compromise
  • High airflow means motovlog audio needs careful mic placement
  • If you mostly ride street, compare against the cheaper, quieter SR7
In the Box
  • Clear visor
  • Pinlock insert
  • Dark visor
  • Breath deflector
  • Peak / visor sold separately

Why this is my only track helmet now

Alpinestars went straight to the top with their first-ever full-face, and I'm not going back to another track lid. The Supertech R10 cuts through air like nothing I've worn. Wind-tunnel-tuned shell, breakaway spoiler components for crash safety, and a stability at speed that's downright eerie. Even leaned off the bike at Sonoma with the whole side profile exposed to the wind, it stays locked down.

Then there's the A-Head system. Pop four push-pins, rotate the liner, and the helmet tilts back into race position so your sightline is optimized when you're tucked. Takes 15 seconds. On the street, rotate it forward for upright vision. Genuinely clever.

The padding material grips your face and holds tight through a full day of sweat-drenched track sessions. Ventilation is absurd: a ten out of ten, six intakes, adjustable chin vent, exhaust through the spoiler. The visor's center-locking metal mechanism feels bank-vault solid. I gotta be honest, for $1,150 this thing earns every dollar if you're doing track days.

Who should buy this

Track-day riders and sport riders who push on technical roads. If Sonoma, Road Atlanta, or a hard canyon day is on your calendar, this is the helmet. Pure street commuters should compare against the SR7 for half the price and a quieter ride. But if protection and performance at the limit matter, buy the R10.
